February 23, 2010 -- If you want to get out and enjoy something fun this weekend head to Coligny Beach for the Gullah Festivals Marsh Tacky Race.
There are usually around 150 horses that take part in this unique event. Marsh Tackies ,once used by islanders for farming, decended from Iberian horses that arrived on Spanish ships in the 1500's. So grab a hat and head out to the beach for this unusual race. 11-3pm, $5.00 suggested donation.
