The Days of Spring on Hilton Head Island are almost here.
Redfish and trout are the flats fishermans of Hilton Head’s most worthy adversary
By: Will Settle
February 16, 2010 -- Redfish and trout are the flats fishermans of Hilton Head’s most worthy adversary. Many local flats fisherman are holding their breath until the return of the spring high tide. With this tide will be the fiddler crab that the local redfish and trout love so much. I believe that it will be about two months until I can start wading my favorite marsh flats on HHI. I really can’t wait to see the tailing of my favorite finned creature. His head will be unseen, but his tail will be held high so that he can muscle the little crustaceans from the flats. This is just the beginning of a great Spring and Summer Activity, that can be seen all around the marshes of the islands. For more information on fishing for HHI redfish. Please feel free to give me a call and I will be happy to give some tips and some secret spots to chase these amazing fish. All it takes is a little patience and a lot of passion!
